In the cold (warm) light of day.

As the Northern Hemisphere welcomes warmer weather, and the UK experienced its first warm weekend of the year, two things occurred to me, and the English idiom 'in the cold light of day' came to mind.

Many times sunshine means hope, and the turning of a new season.

But sometimes the reality that comes with more light on a situation can be overwhelming.

I work in a field which shines light, ideally, and predominantly, with people who want help in seeing things a little clearer. Sunshine often triggers hope, but with greater vision, the magnitude of what becomes visible may also be incredibly disheartening.

This is especially true when you see other individuals or businesses thriving in this new warm light, but everything you see feels insurmountable.

My wife took a photo on the weekend of a field behind our house. It's a perfect summary of my shared thought here. There's thriving life, but also a pinch of hard reality in one corner.

Here's to hope and light.
Here's to helping others see a little clearer.
But also, here's to standing together when what becomes visible, feels a bit too much.

May you find and work with people who bring light, trigger hope, and support you to positively transform what currently feels dead or impossible.
